For those who believe that eyes speak a thousand words, Bobbi Brown believes that they speak just one – perfection. So how does one achieve perfect eyes? The answer lies in a product that hails from a brand revered by many – the gel liner from the house of Bobbi Brown.
Taking her best known, multi-award winning product, the gel eyeliner, and reformulating it into a retractable pencil, say hello to the perfectly defined gel eyeliner. A smooth and convenient eyeliner that magically glides on without any tugging or fuss, the sparkling jewel in this crown is its durability. So go ahead, swipe it on and attend a dance class (like I did) or even go about your entire day’s chores – this will barely move.
The shade I tried was Steel Grey, a velvety smooth dark grey with the slightest hint of metallic. Perfect for defining the eyes, it works since black has now started to bore me. True to its name and to its predecessor, the colour is deep and makes for perfectly defined eyes. The packaging is classy with a rim informing you of the shade inside. A saviour for most women on the go, you no longer need to settle down with a brush that needs to be washed all the time, and are still presented with the beauty of a gel finish. Simply twist up, define and smile!
Points also go out for taking a simple product like an eyeliner and making it so simple and user friendly. The back of the pencil doubles up as a sharpener so you never need to worry about an ugly flat line. Being waterproof and smudge-proof, I know that I for one will be heartbroken when this product is over because Bobbi Brown products aren’t officially sold in Mumbai yet. I applied it close to my upper lash line and lined the insides with the pitch black shade to add some depth. Layering my eyelashes with some mascara, I added some peach blush and nude lipstick for a look that was perfect in the day, as well as the night. It lasted about 8.5 hours before I saw some slight smudging under the eye.
Water or a simple cleaner will not shift this product, so keep a suitable eye make up remover handy. Other colours available are pitch black, violet night, sapphire, chocolate truffle (my favorite) and scotch.
