Dressed in black
Pushing the limits of sensuality, the bottle is a carnal embrace wrapped in iconic black to intrigue and captivate. Dressed in a powder pink meet nude carton with an embossed gold Sì, take a few seconds to uplift your senses and match it with the core of the perfume. Giving a sneak peak into what’s to come, I quite like the all black bottle nestling on my shelf. Darkly radiant against bare skin, it is the essence of Italian style, the debut of an unforgettable attraction.
The bottle and complete packing accentuates the sensual and elegant facets of the Armani woman. More textured, it takes the uniquely modern chypre accord of Sì to unexpected depths. Enveloping the fragrance in luxurious black harmonies, I won’t be surprised if the bottle demands a second look and added attention.
The sinuous, sculptural cap appears to melt into the Sî bottle adding an aura of mystery as well as timelessness. The bright transparency of the chiselled glass manages to keep its interiors a secret nonetheless and as I opened the bottle, I got a whiff of the perfume, and its almost magnetic and powerful nature. The 3-D lacquered effect is inspired by hand blown murano glass and the execution and creativity of the bottle only builds your anticipation to go ahead and experience Sì intense!
I smell, you smell
Getting technical, the fragrance opens with accords of blackcurrant neo jungle essence and is illuminated by notes of zesty bergamot and mandarin with a hint of silky freesia. The heart offers an exquisite floral bouquet of rose de mai and neroli absolute – made more sophisticated with velvety davana and osmanthus. Its base notes include an olfactive elixir of bright nectars deepened with vanilla beans, black woods and ambery resins. But coming straight to it, the scent is a downright woman power one, and makes you feel great about wearing it. Having been a fan of men’s fragrances because of their sheer intensity and staying power, it was love at first breath when I first took in the scent of Si intense. Velvety, bold, musky to an extent and oh so subtly strong, I found my true love in this man meets woman on a balanced streak.
Opulent, floral and intensely feminine, the fragrance spells an equation of seduction, strength and passion. Warming to the skin, the fragrance reveals its carnal nature. A fragrance of passion, welcome 2015 with this softly powerful, assertive and unmistakably feminine fragrance by Armani. With a staying power of about five hours, I wasn’t complaining as I spritzed on some more as the evening developed.
