February 19, 2020: Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura Beverly Hills, an intimate restaurant by world-renowned three-Michelin-star Chef Massimo Bottura, has opened on the roof of Gucci’s Los Angeles store. Along with that, it announces the renovation and expansion of its flagship store in Beverly Hills, California.
Gucci Osteria, offering outdoor seating and sprawling views of Beverly Hills, is an exciting addition to the dynamic and culturally diverse Los Angeles food landscape. It is a continuation of Massimo’s collaboration with Gucci, which began in 2018 with Gucci Osteria at the Gucci Garden in Florence, which has recently been awarded one Michelin star. The partnership originates from a childhood friendship between Gucci CEO Marco Bizzarri and Chef Massimo Bottura, and celebrates their shared love of two core Italian cultural themes: food and fashion.
The new Gucci outpost in California allows Chef Massimo Bottura to develop and transform classic Italian recipes into cross-cultural compositions by mixing references, techniques and flavours within each dish.
The restaurant’s design includes details of Gucci Osteria in Florence through the use of Gucci Décor wallpaper, antique mirrors, red marble dining tables and wicker dining chairs. Unique elements that distinguish the Los Angles location include herringbone wood flooring and cherry red velvet banquettes, while the outdoor terrace has Italian marble mosaic floors and features an antique wooden pulpit serving as the Osteria’s outdoor bar. Set in an intimate and cosy environment, the Osteria Beverly Hills will seat nearly 50 guests for lunch and dinner seven days a week. Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura Beverly Hills officially opened on February 17, 2020.
The revamped flagship store at Beverly Hills now spans over 12,000 combined square feet and showcases a wide collection of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, shoes, handbags, luggage, small leather goods, accessories, silks, jewellery, watches, beauty, children’s, décor, and eyewear. The interior design is discreet, where understated drama is created by the surprising and unexpected combination of materials. Mechanical display units contrast with the softness of the rich fabrics that adorn the rooms; round tables offset rectangular ones; varnished, iron wall finishes complement the sage green velvet upholstery can be seen.
Throughout the store, one finds sumptuous chairs, while vintage oriental rugs are layered on top of herringbone wood floors for a textured effect. In keeping with the elegant and contemporary eclecticism that characterizes Gucci’s collections.
Gucci has opened a men’s only 3,500 square foot shop adjacent to Gucci’s existing space, featuring its own street entrance and an oversized skylight. The new Gucci store also boasts a dedicated space for the full range of Gucci Beauty that envelops each visitor in a unique, dream-like experience. Vanity-style dressers with mirrors invite clients to discover their perfect lipstick within Gucci Beauty’s five different lipstick formulas.
The Beverly Hills Rodeo Drive expansion contributes to solidifying Gucci’s footprint on the West Coast of the United States and continues to push the boundaries of the in-store shopping experience towards a full lifestyle concept.
