June 16, 2016: Gucci recently revealed new Tom Ford rooms at the Florence Gucci Museo. The announcement came at the book signing of the new Gucci photography book “Epiphany” by Ari Marcopoulos, a book photographed at the Museum.
The rooms are a reminder of Ford’s celebration of self-expression. The decoration represent was Ford’s contribution to Gucci. Ford’s provocative sensuality is still today a staple of what Gucci represents and symbolizes.
Women and men’s ready-to-wear accessories are featured in the cherry colored rooms. Cherry paint and carpet fill the room along with orchids that again voice the sensuality that Ford brought to Gucci. Some accessory rooms shift from a cherry red color to shades of pink. Ford shared the belief that luxury and sex could marry.
Accessories in the rooms include not only signature bags and shoes from Tom Ford, but also more daring pieces that Ford brought to Gucci, like the Gucci GG G-string, handcuffs and dog collar.
