Hakkasan India is celebrating their second birthday. And you are invited to this incredible feast!

Hakkasan India is celebrating their second birthday. And you are invited to this incredible feast!

Something new, something old and something borrowed – that seems to be Hakkasan’ s newest mantra for the second half of the new year. Ageing with style, their second anniversary celebrations will sure make foodies very happy with new additions to their menu. With a lot more vegetarian options (yes, I can see the smiles) and innovative dishes to satiate your cravings, this fine dine restaurant is blowing their candles with finesse.

The slightly adventurous can try the mock dock salad, which is absolutely vegetarian. And if you have eaten duck before, then you could be hoodwinked into believing it is the real deal. It has ingredients imported from different parts of the world and the crunch of the salad will make you purr with joy. If you are one to feast with your eyes, then try the Pumpkin Puff which looks as appealing as it tastes! It actually looks like a pumpkin. Full marks to the wild mushroom and vegetable wrap which is innovative and absolutely delicious (consists of sauteed mushrooms and vegetables that you scoop into crunchy lettuce wraps – shareable portion). That takes care of the something new part of the menu.

The something old part you fans are already familiar with. But yet again, no meal here is complete without the Edamame and Truffle Dumplings that melt in the mouth! Another regular not to be missed is the Stir fry water chestnut, sugar snaps and cloud ear which, though bland in taste, are a healthy option with a ‘back to China’ taste (balance of flavours and aromas minus the guilt of gorging!).

It would be a shame to go home without the Truffle braised noodles which hit the right notes on the palate with the very welcome taste – however subtle – of truffle. Non-vegetarians will of course have the Hakka steamed dim sum basket (an assortment of dim sums which will disappear in your mouth as soon as they appear in front of your eyes). The outer coating of the dimsums, however, do get a little thick for liking, especially if you have tried the dimsums at Yauatcha. The Sanpei chicken clay pot is tender, tasty and with generous portions can be easily shared), while do try your chopsticks on the Stir-fry tenderloin with black pepper sauce.

The crispy tiger prawns with pandan leaf and wheat flakes is crunchy and quite different with a depth of flavours bursting on your palate while being oh-so-aromatic. And of course, their ice creams continue to be the best in town. Their vanilla with citrus just mesmerizes to say the least. Their drinks are also worth a try – in case you want to drop by the place for drinks and dessert.

Coming to the last but not the least part – the something borrowed belongs to the warmth and hospitality from Yauatcha – a big deal for most guests. The team has learnt to smile and extend a helping hand when you need one with prompt service – a team that will foresee your needs. That pretty much sums up the big two year old’s plans for this year.

The new menu has been launched from the 2nd of June to the public, so go ahead, put on your party hats and celebrate with Hakkasan!
