Emotions and technology can’t blend? Think again. When it comes to art and horology, watch aficionados can forge a connection between the two. Merging both, Vacheron Constantin and New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met) have unveiled the “Masterpiece on your Wrist” project, marking a significant milestone in their newly forged partnership.

Originally introduced in 2019, the ‘Masterpiece on your Wrist’ initiative offers aficionados a rare opportunity to own a bespoke, one-of-a-kind watch adorned with an enamel dial reproduction of a masterpiece housed in the world’s foremost museums. With The Met now on board, this project takes on a new dimension, expanding its repertoire to include a diverse array of iconic artworks.

From Vincent van Gogh’s mesmerizing Wheat Field with Cypresses to Claude Monet’s tranquil “Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies and Winslow Homer’s evocative Northeaster, or Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ graceful Diana sculpture, The Met is your oyster when choosing a dial for your Les Cabinotiers watch.

These artistic marvels – or any of those displayed at The Met – can be recreated on the dial of your Les Cabinotiers watch by skilled artisans using either Miniature Enamel Painting or Grisaille Enamel techniques. With Miniature Enamel Painting, every intricate detail of the chosen artwork is delicately hand-painted onto a base layer of enamel, layer by layer, before being set to perfection. As for Grisaille Enameling, its monochromatic finesse lends unparalleled depth and luminosity to the depiction.

This project not only celebrates the fusion of art and craftsmanship but also offers collectors a tangible connection to some of the world’s most cherished masterpieces, right on their wrists.
