India’s ABD Maestro uncorks a 34-year Macallan legacy in just 60 bottles

The Collective ABD Maestro
Backed by actor Ranveer Singh, ABD Maestro debuts ‘The Collective’ with a 34-year Macallan Distillery single malt, capped at 60 numbered bottles worldwide.

Thirty-four years is a long time for anything to wait, and in the world of single malt whisky, that kind of patience commands a price.

ABD Maestro, a subsidiary of Allied Blenders & Distillers, has launched ‘The Collective’, a limited-edition series built around sourcing and presenting the world’s rarest spirits to Indian collectors first. Its debut expression is a 34-year-old Speyside Single Malt, distilled at the Macallan Distillery in 1991, with only 60 bottles made available globally.

Priced at ₹11 lakhs per 700ml bottle in Maharashtra, this release enters a market that has been steadily maturing. India is now one of the fastest-growing markets for premium and super-premium spirits globally, and demand for aged single malts, particularly those with traceable distillery provenance, has risen sharply among high-net-worth collectors who treat rare whisky with the same seriousness as art or vintage watches.

Consistently ranked as one of the most valuable whisky brands in the world, bottles distilled at Macallan have repeatedly set auction records internationally, with rare independently bottled expressions from the distillery drawing particular interest from serious collectors.

Matured for over three decades, the whisky presents delicate florals, soft citrus, and malty notes, deepened by a sherry-led richness that comes from extended cask ageing. It has been independently bottled and custom-made for ABD Maestro in collaboration with Speyside Capital, based in Glasgow, Scotland, serving as brand and project partner on this release.

Every decanter is hand-filled, individually numbered, engraved, and manually gold-lettered in Scotland. Each outer wooden box is handmade, carrying visible marks of the craftsmen involved. Every bottle also includes a personally signed letter from Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, a co-founder of ABD Maestro.

Bikram Basu, Managing Director of ABD Maestro, said, “With the first expression of ‘The Collective’, we present rare, limited editions that are not sold, but acquired, exclusively on pre-order. Defined by quiet luxury and uncompromising craftmanship, each release speaks as much to the collector or connoisseur and those who understand exclusivity as value in itself.”

Once beyond pre-order, distribution will be limited to Travel Retail and select major cities in India. ‘The Collective’ is positioned as a continuing series, with this debut expression representing its first of several planned releases. Pre-orders for the 34-year-old Speyside Single Malt are open now, across 60 individually numbered bottles, at ₹11 lakhs each.
