Lancome’s DreamTone knows what today’s women crave for, and provides just that – healthy, glowing skin. Read our review…
What is every woman’s dream, I often wondered. Flawless skin without marks, blemishes and pigmentation that also oozes health and a pure glow was the answer I always received. But why pay so much attention to your skin? Because radiant, perfect skin reflects who we are, talks of one’s inner well-being and balance, and brings confidence. You know the drill of the society we live in.
And of course, while the options to achieve perfect skin are many, they fail to deliver. So when Lancôme introduced DreamTone, I couldn’t resist the temptation to try it out. Known to be the first bespoke, all-round, pigment corrector that acts on both dark spots, the lack of uniformity and colour irregularities, it seemed too good to be true. And with a Rs 6.900 price tag, you expect it to deliver. Launched in February 2014, this product promises to give you the skin of dreams, naturally.
What intrigued me more about this product is that it comes in three made-to-measure formulas to meet the specific needs of these three different pigment profiles – dark spots, unevenness and irregularities in specific skin tones. Sounds quite targeted to me, doesn’t it? It treats all skin deficiencies of the complexion so you have to fit yourself in either 1, 2 or 3. Pigmentation Profile 1 is for fair skin with dark spots, uneven skin tone, and redness. Pigmentation Profile 2 is for medium skin with dark spots, uneven skin tone, and sallowness and Pigmentation Profile 3 is for dark skin with dark spots, uneven skin tone, and acne marks. I got the medium skin tone to match my skin, and to be honest, I was looking forward to more supple skin at the end of this bottle, if nothing more.
The packaging impresses upon first sight and is an indication of the power and promise of healthy skin. A sign of its technological power, the DreamTone bottle, with its triangular, gracious curves and ruby-like colour, is a symbol of perfection, power and modernity. The triangular shape matched with its silver-twist lid is easy to use and dispenses just the right amount, but you will never know when it is time for a new bottle because of the ruby colour that hides the elixir inside.
Once opened, I needed two drops to cover my entire face and one drop to cover the neck. Keep in mind that the product vanishes into the skin almost instantaneously, so don’t spend too much time working up the product, or warming it on the skin. The texture is light and fresh, and upon contact with the skin, the texture melts and turns into a silky veil of incredible softness. The skin is infused with a unique lustre and transparency. I could feel the smooth texture even after ten minutes of application and lucky for me, the product is odourless. It’s been two weeks that I have been using it and I can definitely give the product a nod of appreciation as I see my skin healthier and nourished – a promise of the days to come.
