May 9, 2019: After Ombre Nomade, Louis Vuitton’s master perfumer, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, pays tribute to the olfactory heritage of the Middle East with Les Sables Roses. Fascinated by the scents, rites and traditions of a several thousand year-old perfume culture, he has orchestrated a composition of contrasts centred around the rose, oud and ambergris – three raw materials that have traversed time and geography to express “something eternal”.
Enamoured by the natural ingredients that have surrounded him ever since his childhood in Grasse, France, Mr. Belletrud sources the most precious ones from the four corners of the world and strives to enhance them in each of his creations. “At Louis Vuitton, perfumes are about contrast. One element enhances another, and vice-versa,” he notes.
Les Sables Roses has notes of Rosa Centifolia absolute, Bulgarian rose, Oud, Ambergris, Black pepper, Saffron. It is a perfume of resolutely simple architecture, to better underscore the richness of its ingredients: a duo of rose and oud, accentuated by ambergris.
The perfume launches in June for the Indian market and is priced at INR 26,000 ($370) for 100ml bottle and INR 40,000 ($570) for 200ml bottle.
