Louis Vuitton pumps fresh style through NYC’s veins with a massive ‘temporary’ store

Fashion, food, and form in one place; it is perfectly LV.

Louis Vuitton’s NYC flagship is trunk-covered as it goes through its own journey of multi-year renovation. But the heart of LV will continue to be in its new flagship store on 57th Street in an Art Deco-inspired building. Above the sleek glass façade, a graceful giraffe and stylish stork serve as symbolic guardians, welcoming visitors to the Maison’s largest space in the United States.

Officially opened on November 15, the five-story temporary flagship is touted as a “cornerstone of retail, culture, and gastronomy.” True to its words, it debuts an exclusive Louis Vuitton café, a chocolate shop, and a unique global culinary concept alongside a capsule collection honoring NYC’s style.

A towering atrium greets visitors with Courrier Lozine 90 trunk sculptures by OMA’s Shohei Shigematsu. The grand space offers something for every luxury enthusiast, from wearable, arts to sensory indulgences. Women’s wear claims the second floor, while men’s collections dominate the third, all paying homage to New York’s unmistakable flair.

The atrium’s rear presents a breathtaking installation, a towering 18-meter-high mirrored bag wall, where Keepalls and Speedys are stacked like architectural bricks. This rhythmic sculpture reflects the store’s dynamic energy, reaching up to the fifth floor. Flanking this dramatic display are oversized murals featuring patterns by iconic collaborators, including Richard Prince, Yayoi Kusama, Supreme, Takashi Murakami, and Stephen Sprouse.

Perched on the fourth floor, Le Café Louis Vuitton welcomes guests with a culinary journey crafted by renowned French chefs Arnaud Donckele and Maxime Frédéric, celebrated for their work at the restaurant in Saint-Tropez. For the NYC flagship, they’ve teamed up with Christophe Bellanca and Mary George to pioneer a new dining concept. Flower Monogram Damier tartlets, Croque sandwiches, and LV-styled burgers are some of the highlights to indulge in.

Le Chocolat Maxime Frédéric at Louis Vuitton debuts its first U.S. location, showcasing handcrafted chocolates by chef pâtissier Maxime Frédéric and his Paris team. Known for sourcing exceptional ingredients, including Normandy farm eggs and rare Montflanquin hazelnuts, Chef Maxime also collaborates with small-scale cocoa farmers worldwide for unique flavors. Inspired by Louis Vuitton’s House Codes, the collection features classic bars, hazelnut bonbons, and creative masterpieces like the Vivienne on a Malle, a whimsical chocolate music box with the Maison’s mascotte pirouetting atop a trunk.
