Amidst the grandeur of Shanghai’s Long Museum, China’s largest private museum, Louis Vuitton unveiled its highly anticipated Women’s Prefall collection.
The Louis Vuitton Voyager Women’s Pre-Fall 2024 show marked a collaboration with Chinese contemporary artist Sun Yitian, renowned for her captivating bestiary elements.
Ms. Yitian’s vibrant menagerie of playful animals adorned the free-flowing garments. The collection exuded exuberant colors and playful whimsy, celebrating the stylistic energy of the young Chinese artist.
There were plenty of fluid garments, dhoti-style breezy pants, high-shoulders angling towards Mr. Ghesquiere’s unique futuristic style.
Archival pieces were reimagined and signature designs were infused with new life. Accessories reflected the brand’s spirit of travel. The Petite Malle, Twist, and OnTheGo bags complemented the looks. The Capucine and Dauphine bags took on new forms, appearing in soft-sided versions, while the debut of the Slim Trunk added to the iconic lineup of Louis Vuitton bags.
The Voyager show drew a star-studded guest list, with celebrities such as Cate Blanchett, Liu Yifei, Zhou Dongyu, and Jackson Wang among those in attendance. This highly anticipated gathering in Shanghai is a continuation of Creative Director Nicolas Ghesquière’s tenth-anniversary celebrations, showcasing Louis Vuitton’s legacy of style.
