Lucille Restaurant opens at Drury Lane Theatre & Convention Center, Chicago

Lucille restaurant, Drury Lane Theatre, Chicago

December 7, 2015: Drury Lane Theatre & Convention Center has announced the opening of Lucille, a classic American restaurant featuring traditional cuisine with modern influence by Executive Chef Bill Kummrow. Having a captivating, art deco design and comprehensive menu, Lucille aims to be an exciting dining experience for all occasions. Named after Owner Kyle DeSantis’ grandmother Lucille DeSantis, the restaurant pays homage to the Drury Lane’s 30-year history as a premier destination for dining and theatre.

Open for lunch, dinner, Saturday afternoon tea and Sunday brunch, Lucille’s dishes are made with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. Enjoy Prime Rib of Beefs, duck, jumbo sea scallops and filet mignons in new ways at the restaurant. Classic escargots and duck liver mousse make amazing appetisers.

Ideal for theatregoers, a two-course pre-theatre menu is available and perfectly timed before curtain call. The restaurant’s Champagne Brunch Buffet on Sundays comprises classic dishes such as Eggs Benedict, French Toast, Baked Atlantic Salmon and more.

With a selection of well-curated cocktails reflective of the season, as well as craft beers and global wines by the glass and bottle, Lucille’s beverage menu complements its classic cuisine.

Lucille’s interiors give a respectful nod to the minimalist, art deco design era of 1930s Paris. The restaurant is resplendent with shades of deep espresso, golden bronze and light sand – including opulent, chocolate-colored fabric adorning the walls, sleek leather banquettes and spectacular crystal chandeliers. Eyes are drawn to two, 45-foot abstract canvases by Ralph Scotese – commissioned exclusively for Lucille. Glistening, golden doors reflect the sparkle of the chandeliers and accentuate the entrance to Drury Lane’s Lounge, creating a dramatic focal point. Lavish floral displays are central to the dining room, and custom lighting exudes a warm glow throughout.
