Trends come, trends go.  Seasons change, colours do too. But fashion, is evergreen and here to stay, with some improvements and adaptations of course. Quite excited about the Men’s Fall Winter 2015 collection, we summarise the best trends that we saw this season. Dandy men, we hope you are listening.
Relaxed and classy
The Fendi Men’s Fall/Winter 2015-16 collection is tailored for a relaxed dreamer who doesn’t necessarily conform to wordly rules of fashion. The collection features the staples of the masculine wardrobe interpreted in the Fendi way. The focus is on texture: what looks like corduroy is in fact sheepskin or leather, while pinstripes are laser-cut 3d motifs and regimental stripes turn into intarsia; suede morphs halfway through into calf.
With soft and comfortable silhouettes, notice straight lines and rounded shoulders this season. A reason to invest in Fendi, utility is paramount. So whether it is the suede coats that can be folded into zippered pouches or even completely reversible, or the blankets that are in fact scarves and feature roomy pockets, there is something to watch out for.
Tones of grey, blue, milk and tobacco build up the classic color palette. Accessories are sturdy loafers with fur inserts and felt shoppers or backpacks with straps to hold blankets. The new apple and smiley furry bag charms surprise with an ironic touch.

Environmentally friendly
For the Autumn Winter 2015/16 the ‘luxury of choice’ is eco-solidarity, personified and depicted creatively by the Ermenegildo Zegna Couture collection. The eco-sustainability theme is not new to the brand who has, over generations, been consistent in their commitment to social and environmental activities.
The uniform of an Eco-leader is the key inspiration for Stefano Pilati for this collection, seen through the use of noble fibers from the house, as well as original archive Harris Tweeds, selected for their authenticity and for their “recyclability”.
Look out for jackets with subtly and softly sculpted details, where pockets are pleated or gathered, worn with tailored pants either elasticated at the bottom or conceived multifunctional. Shoes and boots are covered by protection elements, while hybrid bags are sporty and luxurious, all to define a new “urban uniform” with an urban flavor, created sensitively. And in the true fashion of a uniform, a colour palette of grey, charcoal, hazel brown, khaki, sage, mint, salmon, oxblood and plum is showcased on the ramp.

Think then and now
The Canali FW15 collection takes you on a journey, of the then Milan, and begins with this vision – building a bridge between tradition and modernity. What can you expect from a brand where the tailoring expertise and exquisite materials that have been a hallmark of the brand since its foundation are applied to new shapes and proportions? Sheer genius of course.
Contours are linear yet form-fitting, showcasing a renewed focus on leisurewear. Wool pants rest at the ankle with a distinctive cuff. Coats and jackets in soft cashmere are crafted using an exclusive double technique to create luxurious, lightweight garments.
Lines make an appearance throughout the collection in different forms: singly in classic chalk-stripes, painted roughly for a mélange effect or intersecting with one another to create window-pane checks. A monochrome palette recalls the color-scape of the city, with occasional flashes in petrol blue and Canali yellow to draw in the eye. The entire picture is of a sophisticated, careful man with just a hint of easiness in the style.

Urban romanticism
Coco Chanel had become famous by giving women freedom from corsets and dressing them in straight lined skirts and coats, which hid their curves, often turning them ‘boyish’. Gucci reverses that with a collection that gives men an alternate style. The Gucci Men’s Fall/Winter 2015-16 collection celebrates the idiosyncrasies that define personal style today. From a flourish of a chiffon bow to mink-lined men’s slippers to signet rings, an ambiguity pulsates throughout.
The new collection blurs the masculine-feminine divide and champions the youthful energy and natural confidence of today’s urbanites. Contemporary non-conformists, modern romantics, they have hidden spots in every city and a shared intellectual curiosity that informs how they live and what they wear. A collection that employs fashion technicalities effectively to create this ambiguity, it is a disbelieving one, and a bold one!

Creatives for him
For Fall-Winter 2015/2016, Bottega Veneta presents a men’s collection inspired by the creative life. Put together in unexpected combinations, the looks reveal the beauty of individualistic dressing, and with good reason. It is quite a departure from the classic Bottega Veneta man, giving way to a contemporary style which is often characterized by throwing in those well-loved, worn items and mixing them to create a completely new bravura.
The palette is dominated by dark shades, such as dark sergeant, kelly green, dark and atlantic blue. Various hues of dark grey and russet red and are offset by camel, luteous yellow, persimmon orange, byzantine purple and mallow pink.
Materials are luxurious, reflecting the collection’s eclecticism and range from shearling, suede, calf and lambskin, as well as double faced wool and cashmere, and washed wool gabardine. At times the material is intriguingly faded, splattered, frosted, mended or over-dyed.
