February 15, 2021: Champagne house Moët & Chandon has collaborated with fashion designer Yoon Ahn of Ambush to reveal a new design of its bottles, which also supports the environment. The new limited-edition bottle of Impérial Moët & Chandon has a contemporary edge.

A brand born in 1743 with strong ties to history and heritage, Moët & Chandon’s association with Ms. Ahn is a bold, disruptive step for them. The new design of the iconic cuvee connects Moët & Chandon with the spirit of the times and speaks to the values championed by today’s generation.

The partnership between Moët & Chandon and Ambush is particularly momentous because it marks the first time in 152 years that the iconic bottle of Moët Impérial, born in 1869, has been redesigned by an artist.

The Champagne house is also donating a portion of profits from sales of the limited-edition Moët & Chandon x AMBUSH to the World Land Trust, an international conservation charity that protects threatened natural habitats. The funds will be targeted to protecting the Canandé Reserve in the Ecuadorian Chocó Forest, a place as biodiverse as the Amazon rainforest but far more threatened. World Land Trust CEO Jonathan Barnard says that support from the Moët & Chandon x AMBUSH collaboration will have a direct impact on protecting fragile species and stopping deforestation.

Ms. Anh says, “On my visit to Epernay, I saw the devotion of the people at Moët & Chandon to nature and to their precious terroir. This inspired me to select the World Land Trust to receive the support of the House, so that together we could help preserve other terroirs around the world.”

While the content of this limited edition is faithful to the Champagne region’s vineyards, Moët & Chandon gave Yoon carte blanche to redesign the bottle with her minimalist aesthetic. Yoon has given the bottle a deep black neck that contrasts with a new embossed white label. Her design resembles an open window which gives a glimpse into the golden liquid housed inside this delicate bottle.
