Nilaya Anthology has unveiled Bengale Tigris, a 16-piece tableware collection by Sabyasachi Mukherjee that brings the textures and spirit of the Sunderbans into the home. Inspired by the wetlands and the Bengal tiger, the collection merges artistry and functionality, offering a new way to experience fine dining.
Each piece is crafted from premium bone china and hand-painted using original watercolours by artists of the Sabyasachi Art Foundation. The designs are accented with 24-carat gold embellishments, reflecting the designer’s signature attention to detail and subtle luxury.
The aesthetic of Bengale Tigris takes cues from fine old china once collected in the grand zamindari (landlord) homes of Calcutta, reminiscent of pieces transported from England in leather trunks. Soft verdant greens on ivory backgrounds, paired with delicately painted scenographies, create a refined yet immersive dining experience.
When arranged on crisp white linens and paired with crystal goblets, masses of Oriental lilies, and scented candles, the collection evokes the calm and richness of a Calcutta night, where warm breezes carry the scent of honeysuckle.
Bengale Tigris is available exclusively at Nilaya Anthology in Mumbai. The collection reflects the evolution of Sabyasachi Mukherjee as a brand offering more than just apparel, giving patrons the opportunity to bring carefully crafted art into their daily rituals. In the home décor space, Mukherjee has previously partnered with Asian Paints, Thomas Goode and Pottery Barn.
