May 16, 2019: The colour red symbolises fire-coloured sunsets reflected in the ripples of the lagoon, the red velvets of the gondolas, the Venetian flag charged with the Golden Lion of St. Mark’s passant across a red background, the nobility of Venice, the warm natural pigment of red Venetian buildings, and the colour often used in Italian Renaissance paintings. Taking that inspiration, The Merchant of Venice has introduced its latest fragrance – Red Potion.
New to the range in the signature Murano Collection bottle, this heady scent captures orange blossom, rosemary, and the caramel-esque notes of the hardy immortelle. These raw scents travel the seas from North Africa across the Mediterranean into Venice, following the trade route of La Muda del Trafego, which is the source of inspiration of this particular fragrance, named after the iconic symbols of RED, which permeate the city of Venice.
Red Potion, thus, has Golden Immortelle, Orange, Marigold as the top notes, while Orange flowers, Rosemary, Honeysuckle bind the fragrance with Tonka beans, Sandalwood, and Lichen Accord.
