Trump Hotel Washington DC – Building over a Heritage of Luxury

Announcing their newest property, the Trump family is expanding in Washington DC with a reinvented heritage building.

Trump International Tower DC

In anticipation of the September 12, 2016 opening of their newest hotel in Washington D.C. the Trump family held an informational gathering at the Trump Tower in Chicago.

Beneath crystal chandeliers and golden sunlight from the hotel’s floor to ceiling windows, guests were greeted by staff from the D.C. tower, including Managing Director Mickael Damelincourt and Director of Food and Beverage Daniel Mahdavian. A warm welcome was provided by all those present, as they circulated around the room during the evening, and answered questions on the new hotel.

Mr Damelincourt gave a presentation during the course of the evening, in which he highlighted the tremendous role of the Trump family in the renovation of the Trump Hotel in D.C. Formerly an old post office, the new building has been updated to provide 263 guest rooms with 14-16 feet ceilings, along with 35 suites. According to Mr. Damelincourt, the Trump family invested more than $200 million into this historic building.

In addition, Trump family’s very own, Donald Trump Jr, spoke to guests. He, too, emphasized the role of the Trump family, as well as the roles of each of the members of the Trump Tower D.C. directing team. Mr. Trump Jr. spoke of how each member of the team has contributed to the growth of the D.C. hotel and their growth as a family.

Meat and cheese were provided to guests, along with seafood inspired finger foods, shrimp and crab being the most popular. As guests sipped wine, Mr Mahdavian entertained with a sabering performance, an event saved for special occasions at the Trump Tower. Sabering, dating back to Europeans, involves striking the neck of a champagne bottle with a blunt metal object, prompting the cork of the bottle to be removed. Twice, Mr. Mahdavian provided guests with this performance and their glasses were once again refilled.

The evening concluded with a raffle, in which prizes such as a three night stay at the D.C. hotel and even a bottle of Trump Champagne were raffled off.

Although the Trump International Tower in Washington D.C. will not open until September, the former post office was brought into the Trump family in 2014. It is one of the tallest buildings in the city and can be seen from any point in the area. It is located near major tourist attractions, including the Capitol building and even the White House. It will include 14 meeting rooms and an attached ballroom, both of which will be accessible from the hotel and from the street. This hotel is the tenth Trump hotel among those already established, and one of the thirteen total.
