November 8, 2019: BIÂN, a luxury private member’s club opening in downtown Chicago in 2020, aims to offer an innovative and peerless approach to the concept of living well.
Envisioned by Principals Robb Leone, Joseph Fisher and Kevin Boehm and Partner Mar Soraparu, Chief Medical Officer Angelo Costas, MD and Aesthetic Medical Director Julius Few, MD, BIÂN is built on a foundation of holistic wellness, vitality and social wellbeing. The club weaves Eastern and Western philosophies; concierge medicine; a signature apothecary; extensive yoga, fitness, pilates and studio programming; chef-driven food and beverage offerings; cutting edge therapeutic modalities; luxurious spa and beauty services and grand social gathering spaces – all in one dynamic, design forward space.
The name BIÂN is derived from a legendary Chinese physician from 300BC, Bian Que, who had a multidisciplinary approach to medicine, incorporating acupuncture, meditation and yoga with traditional medical philosophies. He is also credited as the first person to take a patient's pulse as an early diagnostic check of health.
The first of its kind, the 21,000 square foot BIÂN offers an elite level of comprehensiveness as well as collaborative health and wellness plans for members. Members can experience areas like vibrant dining/social areas; a bustling bar; a listening room with more than 1500 vinyl records organized by mood and experienced through a Macintosh sound system; a fireplace nook for reading or quiet conversation; a nap room for restorative sleep and more. BIÂN members will also enjoy networking opportunities, unique workshops and other programming that make up a thriving, like-minded community.
Apart from multi-purpose fitness studios and areas, an array of healing treatments and services, such as Cryotherapy and LED light bed therapy are available at BIAN. The club’s spa features restorative experiences ranging from Rolfing and gua sha to silk peels and rejuvenating facials. Members can also take advantage of medical grade offerings inclusive of BOTOX, fillers, body toning/sculpting, micro-needling, laser treatments, non-invasive surgical procedures and soon-to-be-announced treatments exclusively available to BIÂN members.
BIÂN has collaborated with the Boka Restaurant Group for their food and drink program. A curated selection of natural food and beverage offerings includes energizing smoothies, juices and elixirs; organic wine and spirits; artisanal coffee and tea and an extensive food menu developed by Michelin-starred Chef Lee Wolen. A holistic apothecary will also present BIÂN specialty products, along with Chinese and Western herbs and tinctures.
Several medical services are available to all members, such as blood diagnostics, IV treatments and vitamin shots. For BIÂN Concierge Medical Members, doctors, medical staff and an on-site lab serve all acute and preventative primary care needs, including an annual executive physical, same-day/next-day appointments and other exclusive services.
