In a move that seems to be becoming a new industry standard, Christian Louboutin has announced actor and rapper Jaden Smith as its first Men’s Creative Director, ushering in a fresh era of designer choices. This is the second time in the luxury world when an entertainer has being appointed at the helm of a brand – first being when Pharell Williams was appointed as Men’s Creative Director at Louis Vuitton.
The decision signals a defining step in how the brand approaches its men’s collections, bringing in a voice that blends cultural awareness with a fearless take on creativity.

In his new role, Mr. Smith will design four collections each year across men’s shoes, leather goods, and accessories. His vision is set to move beyond product design, shaping the wider universe of the brand through campaigns, events, and immersive experiences.
“When I first met Jaden, I saw in him a natural fit for the Maison, his world is rich and multidimensional, his style and cultural sensibility are inspiring and his curiosity and openness are remarkable. I felt that with his creative direction our men’s collection would evolve in an exciting and dynamic way. He feels like the perfect addition to our creative team and I am truly looking forward to having fun working with him on our men’s collections,” said Christian Louboutin.
The connection between Mr. Louboutin and Smith goes back to 2019, when they first met in Paris. That meeting sparked conversations built on shared admiration, which eventually grew into an ongoing exchange of ideas. Mr. Louboutin was particularly moved by Mr. Smith’s inventive spirit, his respect for the Maison, and his drive to create with a sense of social and environmental awareness.
Mr. Smith said, “Merging my vision with Christian’s comes quite naturally because we see the world in a very similar way. There’s a shared respect for creative freedom, and I think that’s why it works. I want to continue the story, honoring the past while shaping the future through my own perspective. It isn’t just a title — it’s a creative home. Christian has given me a place to explore, to learn, and to create freely. His legacy is built on hard work and joy, and I want to carry that forward.”

Now, those conversations have taken shape as a formal creative partnership. For Jaden Smith, whose philosophy is grounded in cultural curiosity and multidimensional expression, the role offers a chance to expand the men’s narrative. With years of experience in music, acting, activism, and fashion, including nearly a decade of shoe collaborations and his own fashion label, he brings a wide-ranging perspective to the brand. Mr. Smith is known for acting with his father Will Smith in The Pursuit of Happyness, The Karate Kid remake, and After Earth.
The men’s line, launched more than 15 years ago, has grown steadily and today makes up 24% of the brand’s business. Alexis Mourot, Chief Executive Officer, said, “We launched our Men’s line more than 15 years ago in a very genuine way, as we always do. Today, it represents 24% of our business, and we believe there is still tremendous potential. This is the perfect time to strengthen our creative team by welcoming Jaden alongside Christian. We share the same values and the Maison’s DNA.”
Jaden Smith’s first contribution will be an avant-premiere capsule arriving in January, available in select boutiques worldwide and on christianlouboutin.com. His debut collection as Creative Director will be unveiled in January 2026 during Men’s Fall/Winter Paris Fashion Week. The appointment points to a wider ambition: to grow the men’s business by fusing Mr. Louboutin’s heritage with Mr. Smith’s vision for the future.
