The V motif has been part of Louis Vuitton’s design history since 1925. First introduced by Gaston-Louis Vuitton at the Decorative Arts Exhibition in Paris, the symbol reflected his admiration for the Art Deco movement. Since then, it has become a key part of Louis Vuitton’s design language.
Louis Vuitton has now added eight new pieces to its Pure V High Jewelry collection, continuing this vision. The new additions include necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and a sculptural ring, all built around the graphic strength of the V. These pieces follow the same design language introduced in 2014 with the Acte V collection and developed further in 2021 with the launch of Pure V in white gold and diamond.
This collection comes on the heels of the news that Francesca Amfitheatrof is exiting Louis Vuitton after seven years as the brand’s Artistic Director for watches and jewelry.
In the new pieces, the ‘V’ is used not just as a visual detail, but as the core of each design. Diamonds are arranged to follow its shape, especially baguette-cut stones, which help create a sharp, clean finish. Some pieces build out the motif using pyramid-like structures and overlapping lines, giving the jewelry more dimension and visual weight.
Necklaces and bracelets use invisible clasps and precise articulation, allowing them to move easily without disrupting the shape. The earrings and ring apply the same design language at a smaller scale, balancing structure with wearability.
Everything is designed to feel modern and controlled. There’s no excess, just clean shapes, exact proportions, and a clear focus on the V. Louis Vuitton isn’t trying to reinvent high jewelry here, it’s refining it, making it sharper, clearer, and more aligned with the brand’s design roots.
With this new release, Louis Vuitton continues to explore what high jewelry can be when tradition meets innovation. The V stays at the forefront, commanding full attention.
