Rixos Hotels Egypt marks 25 years with significant expansion plans

Global stars Enrique Iglesias and Jennifer Lopez to headline summer concerts at Rixos Radamis, Sharm El Sheikh.

Rixos Hotels Egypt is entering a new phase of development as it completes 25 years in the country. The company is expanding its footprint with large-scale projects, aiming to strengthen Egypt’s position as a premium international tourism destination.

The group currently operates more than 7,000 rooms across Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada, Alexandria, and Alamein. That number is expected to rise to 12,000 in the coming years. Erkan Yildirim, Managing Director of Rixos Hotels Egypt, said, “What began as a bold vision to change the destiny of the destination is now unfolding with measurable impact.”

One of the company’s key focus areas is Sharm El Sheikh, where the new Rixos Radamis is now operational with 1,200 rooms. Plans are underway to scale it to 3,000 rooms, which would make it the largest resort within both the Rixos and Accor networks worldwide. Alongside this expansion, Rixos is introducing international live performances to offer more than just accommodation. Global artists Enrique Iglesias and Jennifer Lopez will perform there on May 3 and July 4, setting the tone for a tourism experience built on both hospitality and entertainment.

In Hurghada, Rixos Premium Magawish Suites & Villas is adding 442 more units, including a dedicated adults-only zone under the Club Privé by Rixos concept. The location, which is 10 minutes from the airport and right on the Red Sea coast, is expected to draw more visitors looking for a private and relaxed atmosphere.

In Alexandria, the first phase of Rixos Montaza has opened inside the grounds of the former Montaza Royal Palace. Mr. Yildirim called it “one of the most iconic and historic locations in Egypt,” and added that it brings a new approach to city hospitality by combining a strong sense of place with modern design.

Further west, in Alamein, Rixos is preparing for long-term growth. The area is part of the $35 billion UAE investment into Ras El Hekma—one of the largest development plans on Egypt’s North Coast. With properties in both Alexandria and Alamein, the group is positioning itself to play a central role in the evolution of this emerging destination. With mild summer weather and direct coastal access, the North Coast is seeing renewed interest from visitors and investors.

Rixos is shaping its future around integrated growth—investing in expansion, boosting travel access, and designing experiences that support Egypt’s tourism economy long-term.

“We’re not just expanding our portfolio—we’re creating a movement,” said Mr. Yildirim. “Our mission is to transform Egypt into a premium international destination, offering not just hospitality but immersive experiences that captivate visitors from around the world. This is just the beginning,” he concluded.
