Breitling and NBA player Giannis Antetokounmpo have teamed up to create a limited-edition collection and new executions of the Chronomat B01 42, combining the Swiss luxury watchmaker’s dedication to craftsmanship and style with the Milwaukee Bucks star forward’s commanding presence on the basketball court, strength, and dominance.
The signature watches come in two versions – a 40-mm steel Chronomat GMT and a 42-mm gold Chronomat B01 chronograph – meticulously crafted with attention to detail. Featuring “GA” initials on the central hand and a basketball emblem cleverly integrated into the chronograph counter, the dial shade pays homage to the iconic green of his championship-winning team.
Both editions are limited, with 1750 available for the GMT and 250 for the chronograph, ensuring exclusivity for collectors.
For horology aficionados, the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01 movement with its golden rotor is a captivating feature, visible through the transparent case-back. In addition to the striking design elements, such as Mr. Antetokounmpo’s signature on the GMT caseback, the chronograph offers versatility with a choice between a green rubber Rouleaux strap or an 18k red gold bracelet, allowing enthusiasts to customize their look.
Each timepiece is presented in special-edition packaging, personally curated by the “Greek Freak” himself, adding a touch of exclusivity to these exceptional creations.
“There’s a video of the moment I first unboxed the chronograph. My face says it all; I was blown away to see it come to life. I’m grateful to Breitling for the chance to co-design these watches and grateful to everyone who takes one home. My heart went into them,” Mr. Antetokounmpo said.
There is also an exclusive “One of One” Chronomat B01, as a tribute to the basketball star, featuring golden Arabic numerals, a white inner bezel, and white chronograph counters set against a green dial, symbolizing his team’s colors.
Furthermore, Breitling unveiled an array of enhancements to its Chronomat B01 42 lineup alongside the launch of Giannis Antetokounmpo signature editions and Chronomat B01 Triumph editions, featuring a Rouleaux-inspired rubber strap for a sporty alternative and enhanced metal Rouleaux bracelet with a comfortable butterfly folding clasp.
The palette expands with a new green colorway and titanium options for a featherlight feel while retaining classic features like the “onion” crown and signature rider tabs on the bezel for countdowns or count-ups.
Enthusiasts can now own a piece of power-packed action with the signature watch of the two-time NBA MVP, offering a blend of athleticism and luxury for discerning fans and collectors alike.
