Auction house Christie’s will flaunt a fascinating collection, curated by Adam Lindemann, in its evening sale on March 9, 2023. A cultural innovator and art collector, Mr. Lindemann is known for his deep understanding of the zeitgeist and distinctive outlook on art business. He was an early champion of the most recognized and celebrated contemporary artists of today—including Jeff Koons, Richard Prince, Damien Hirst, and Urs Fischer, all of whom are represented in the sale.
Andy Warhol’s ‘Little Electric Chair’ (1964), estimated at $4,000,000 – 6,000,000.
The auction features sophisticated and singular design pieces, with a portion of proceeds reserved to support the Michael C. Rockefeller Wing for art of the peoples of sub-Saharan Africa, the Pacific Islands, and North, Central, and South America at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The sale offers the finest piece collection of contemporary art and modernist design from the 20th and 21st centuries, as well as a motorcycle, Oceanic Art and NFTs. The collection will include major artworks by established icons such as Jeff Koons, Etel Adnan, and Takashi Murakami, as well as subversive creators who have pushed the boundaries of art – from Jim Nutt and Miyoko Ito to Beeple + Madonna.
A highlight of the sale is Mr. Warhol’s infamous work, ‘Little Electric Chair’ (1964). The most haunting and provocative work of the celebrated ‘Death and Disaster’ series, it is estimated to achieve $4,000,000-6,000,000.
Etel Adnan’s ‘Untitled’ (2014), estimated at $60,000 – 80,000.
Comprising 40 works, the auction is expected to realize more than $22,000,000.
