After launching candles, fragrances, and apparel and accessories, resorts group Aman has launched Essential Skin, a new skincare range comprising five products developed and produced in Japan to create a functional and effective daily skincare routine respecting the natural skin barrier, enriching deep hydration, and protecting from daily environmental stressors.
The collection includes a Clarifying Milk Cleanser, Skin Activating Toner, Rejuvenating Face Serum, Radiance Face Cream and Illuminating Eye Cream. The products are gentle in nature and tend to feature soothing and hydrating ingredients.
Each product has two key ingredients: first being the ancient purple rice bran extract known for its antioxidant properties, as well as promoting fibroblast proliferation rate which supports the production of collagen. The second is Indigo extract, a medicinal herb used since the 5th century, proven for its antioxidant qualities. Interestingly, the indigo herb was favoured by the Samurais, who would wear Aizome (the process of indigo dyeing) clothing for its antibacterial effect on wounds, which was said to encourage faster healing.
In addition, Aman Essential Skin uses a unique blend of potent herbs that have long been valued in Japan for their powerful effects, as well as skin actives including Vitamin C, Vitamin E, peptides, and hyaluronic acid.
Aman Essential Skin has been developed in partnership with Kose, a Japanese company, which uses hi-tech testing and product development to create high performance and fine skincare which suits all skin types and all ages.
Aman Essential Skin products will be used in Aman Spas in Tokyo, New York and London. Aman Essential Skin ranges from $80 – $270 and is available to purchase via shop.aman.com, or within Aman Boutiques at the brand’s destinations across the globe.
