Stories of space exploration often remain confined to science journals and telescopes. Bangalore Watch Company, however, has found a different way to bring them closer, through watches. Continuing its Apogee collection, the brand has introduced The Visitor, a new timepiece that honours humanity’s first confirmed interstellar discovery.

Nirupesh Joshi, Co-founder and Creative Director of the brand, said, “We launched the Apogee collection in 2021 as India’s first space-qualified watch. Since then, it has been our way of celebrating stories of space exploration through world-class watchmaking. With this new watch, we carry that vision forward by bringing to life a story that started far beyond our solar system.”
The discovery that inspired the watch dates back to 2017, when astronomers observed an object hurtling through space at unusual speed. It was identified as the first interstellar object to pass through our solar system, arriving from another star system. For scientists and observers, it was a moment that shifted perspective on the vastness of the universe.

For Bangalore Watch Company, the story has been translated into design using the Muonionalusta meteorite, a material that itself travelled through space before arriving on Earth. The meteorite has featured in other watches by the brand as well. The meteorite dial is finished with a precise matte black PVD coating, creating a piece that is distinct and impossible to replicate.
Mercy Amalraj, Co-founder and Head of Ownership Experience, said, “Our customers love the fact that they get to wear a watch that is unlike any other; they’re extremely rare and the patterns make them unique, the Matte black Meteorite is quite unlike any other and makes this watch even more interesting. It is under the radar, and screams IYKYK.”

The watch comes in a 40mm case made of Cerasteel, the brand’s proprietary stainless-steel construction with a ceramic-coated surface that produces a matte-grey finish. Two steel crowns, a polished caseback, and a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating add subtle contrasts. The piece also carries a Swiss automatic movement, 100 meters of water resistance, and a bi-directional internal rotating bezel to track a second time zone.
The Visitor is priced at INR 2,16,000 (approximately USD 2,500) and is available for orders. With this launch, Bangalore Watch Company continues to bring space stories into everyday objects, keeping alive a fascination with the unknown while creating watches designed for daily wear.
