It’s quite an amazing kickstart for Gemfields this year with some fabulous collaborations. After Shruti Sushma, the mining company has now collaborated with New York-based designer Sandy Leong, and Chinese designer label, MidnightOperaHouse.
Having collaborated before, the Serenity Collection by Sandy Leong for Gemfields stands out as one of their most captivating creations. Continuing their partnership, these two powerhouses have joined forces once again for a fifth collection – The Lunar Collection.
The Lunar Collection is a tribute to the lunar year and the mighty Year of the Dragon. Drawing inspiration from the storied association of rubies and the color red with Chinese culture, the collection symbolizes passion, prosperity, protection, and celebration.
The lineup boasts a stunning array of pieces, including Ruby earrings, a Ruby Baguette Tennis bracelet, Ruby Baguette pendant, and Ruby Baguette Stack ring. Additionally, three standout Ruby Signet rings, featuring round or baguette rubies complete the festive vibe.
Set in 18k recycled gold and adorned with conflict-free colorless diamonds, the collection adheres to Ms. Leong’s ethos of sustainability. In line with the designer’s commitment to giving back, 10% of the net proceeds from the sales of the Lunar Collection will be donated to the Gemfields Foundation. This charitable arm of Gemfields enables donors to contribute directly to community and conservation projects in Africa, supporting sustainable development initiatives.
In association with Gemfields, another new collection is launched this year, marking a significant and first-ever collaboration with the Chinese designer label, MidnightOperaHouse. The enchanting “Floral Seasonscape” Collection consists of three meticulously crafted pieces, each radiating an unmistakably Eastern homage to Art Deco aesthetics.
Once again, Gemfields’ gorgeous Zambian emeralds emerge as the focal point, as the collection reflects the profound admiration for flowers held by the brand’s designer and founder, Johnny Gengyi Yu. Infusing an exotic allure with a classic essence, the collection showcases the “Ingenious Linglong Narcissus” – a black Agate inlaid with Gemfields Zambian emeralds, decorated with mother-of-pearl and diamonds, detachable pearl necklace, which draws inspiration from Eastern bonsai artistry.
Additionally, the collection includes “The Window Harbors Autumn Blooms”, which again uses black Agate, inlaid with emeralds, gold sand, and mother-of-pearl to create window scene earrings set in a modern elliptical silhouette. The tranquility of a natural black agate base gives a unique flavor to the jewelry.
This collaboration seamlessly melds Eastern charm with contemporary elegance. Both collections are available with Gemfields and the brands, for enthusiasts to get their hands on.
