Having spent 22 years at the forefront of watchmaking, American brand Ritmo Mundo has now launched its first-ever tourbillon model, a crystal-clear masterpiece that elevates the Pegasus line with a full synthetic sapphire crystal case top.
Back in February 2024, when Ritmo Mundo unveiled the first Pegasus three-hand automatic watch, it was clear the L.A.-based brand was stepping into a new chapter, one defined by daring innovation, a bold aesthetic, and elevated offerings.
For its sporty and striking Pegasus Tourbillon, Ritmo Mundo revisited the striking beveled case design of the original Automatic model in a sleek 42 mm format, while rolling out two major upgrades. First up, the Pegasus Tourbillon elevates the transparent case top to a full synthetic sapphire crystal.
Secondly, the brand introduced its first-ever tourbillon movement in any of its collections. This hand-assembled tourbillon movement, complete with a gold-plated barrel, boasts a frequency of 28,800/hour and a robust three-day, 72-hour power reserve.
The case bottom continues to feature the ultra-durable and scratch-resistant transparent glass material that debuted with the Pegasus Automatic. This pioneering glass material, still ranking a solid 7 on the Mohs hardness scale, rivals the toughness of many precious gemstones.
The clear and exceptionally durable Pegasus case provides a panoramic view of the tourbillon movement, complemented by a mineral-reinforced glass mirror dial and a metal dial ring, available in turquoise, blue, or black accents. The ergonomically designed case measures a sleek 11.5 mm in thickness.
The Pegasus Tourbillon is built to be a durable, scratch-resistant everyday watch. Its luminous, pointer-style hands ensure easy reading, day or night. The watch features elevated details like a crystal crown and a fluorine rubber strap with a 316L stainless steel pin buckle clasp. Designed for longevity, it’s also corrosion- mold- and moisture-resistant.
As the brand shifts focus, it plans to archive much of its previous catalog to concentrate on crafting modern, innovative, and accessible luxury timepieces, with Pegasus leading the charge.
