Swiss watchmaker Kross Studio has released its latest entertainment collaboration, a Harry Potter-themed collector’s set limited to ten pieces worldwide and priced at CHF 120,000. Partnering with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, this marks another chapter in the brand’s strategy of merging pop culture franchises with haute horlogerie, a path it has followed consistently since its founding in 2020.

This Harry Potter release consists of two components. A Central Floating Tourbillon watch recreates a Quidditch match with four miniature wizards rotating around the movement. Accompanying it is a mechanical music box manufactured by Reuge that plays three movements of Hedwig’s Theme. Reuge, established in 1865, specializes in high-end musical mechanisms and has supplied luxury brands and private collectors for over 160 years.
Inside the 42mm watch case sits the KS 7’006 movement, a hand-wound caliber designed and assembled in-house. Comprising 229 components, it delivers a 120-hour power reserve through a barrel that occupies nearly the entire movement surface. Kross Studio’s central floating tourbillon represents a world-first technical advancement that was patented in early 2023. This construction elevates the regulating organ, balance wheel, and fixed seconds wheel above the movement and hands, creating an unobstructed view of the mechanism.
Four characters attach to this tourbillon, completing one full rotation per minute. Harry Potter represents Gryffindor, Cho Chang for Ravenclaw, Cedric Diggory for Hufflepuff, and Draco Malfoy for Slytherin. Each 18k gold figure measures 2.79mm in height and 6.09mm in length. Engraved details and hand-painted features show facial characteristics and Quidditch uniforms down to the broomsticks. Creating miniature sculptures capable of withstanding constant movement while maintaining aesthetic integrity requires precision metalwork that crosses into jewelry-making territory.

Case design references the Hogwarts clock tower. Two separate 18-karat gold elements construct the dial. An outer flange features an opaline sandblasted finish with a railway track design, while the inner section, fixed to the hour wheel, displays Roman numerals against a black-grained surface. A peripheral hour display mechanism uses a planetary gear system mounted on ball bearings, keeping the center open for viewing the tourbillon and characters. Gold-plated hands filled with black Superluminova provide legibility in low light conditions.
Finishing work adheres to traditional Geneva watchmaking standards. Hand-beveled angles, stretched edges, perlage on recessed areas, and Geneva stripes on the barrel bridge’s upper surface demonstrate in-house capabilities. Kross Studio maintains a decoration department that executes this level of finishing entirely within its workshops rather than outsourcing to external ateliers.
Reuge’s music box operates on a fully mechanical movement with over 1,200 pins on its cylinder and a 72-note clavier. Sound production occurs through blade vibration as cylinder pins lift and release them, a technique largely unchanged for over a century. Hand assembly makes each unit unique in tonal characteristics and mechanical tolerances.

With production limited to ten sets, the strategy reflects both labor-intensive manufacturing and a deliberate attempt at exclusivity. Comparable limited editions from established Swiss independents typically range from 18 to 50 pieces.
Marco Tedeschi established Kross Studio in 2020, and within months secured a partnership with Lucasfilm to create Star Wars-themed collector sets. It became the first luxury watch brand to partner with the Star Wars franchise, a move that defined its business model. Since then, collaborations have expanded to include Marvel, Game of Thrones, DC Comics, and Transformers. Located in Gland near Lake Geneva, the brand’s manufacture is equipped with CNC machines of the latest generation, enabling vertical integration from design to commercialization.
The Harry Potter Collector Set is available through the Kross Studio website, official partners, and select authorized retailers.
