Aston Martin exhibits a fresh standard for both Super Tourer performance and advanced technologies with the introduction of the DB12 Volante. Companion to the recently debuted DB12 Coupe, this is the most recent addition to Aston Martin’s much-celebrated lineage of high-performance convertibles. With a timeless design and unique style, the new open-top model promises to provide an unrivaled experience for enthusiasts.
Powered by the 4.0 Twin-Turbo V8 engine, the model was crafted concurrently with the DB12 and flaunts the same aluminum structure. What truly sets the car apart is its intelligent adaptive dampers, which have a 500% increase in bandwidth of force distribution compared to previous generation hardware, giving the DB12 Volante a range of dynamic capability and character far in excess of class rivals.
The interior is as exquisitely designed as its cutting-edge technology. The application of wood veneer or carbon fiber panels on the seatbacks matched with the door trim inlay adds another layer of elegance. Clients may pick from four different external hood colors. Standard colors are black, with variants including red, blue, and “black and silver.” This palette enables extensive customization and ensures that there is a hue to complement the virtually infinite selection of body and interior colors. The new Q by Aston Martin will help clients realize their ideal car with their personalization service.
Expressing excitement over the new creation, Aston Martin’s CEO, Amedeo Felisa, said, “For many of our customers, roof-down driving is the greatest pleasure. Aston Martin Volantes have captured that emotion and expressed it in a unique style for more than six decades. With the new DB12 Volante, we have changed the rules, creating a car that intensifies those feelings by preserving all the purity and exceptional sporting capabilities of the DB12 Coupe. A rare and true sporting convertible in every respect, this is a car to challenge preconceptions and find a new generation of Volante customer.”
The DB12 Volante, which was originally on exhibit at The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering, and at the private clubhouse Aston Martin Club 1913 at Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance, also made an appearance during Monterey Car Week in California. First deliveries of the DB12 Volante are expected to start in Q4 2023, with production set to begin in Q3 2023.
