H&M and Stella McCartney are reuniting for the second time in 20 years. The collection launches on May 7, 2026, two decades after their first partnership in November 2005, which was only H&M’s second-ever designer collaboration, following Karl Lagerfeld in 2004. McCartney has used the occasion to look back at her 25-year career, pulling together her current design signatures and early archival pieces into a single cohesive range of apparel and accessories.

Her current signatures are well represented. Oversized shirting, sharp tailoring, and sweeping trench coats have all made it in, sitting alongside pieces that reference her earlier, more irreverent phase, including bejewelled prints and slogan tops. It is a deliberate tension between who she was and who she has become as a designer.

“I see this collection as a journey through my fashion history. It is a true mix of current classics and some of my old favourites that showcase my first forays into fashion and the development of my signatures. It’s playful, strong, sparkling, joyful, refined,” McCartney said.

Her Falabella chain, one of the most recognised accessory motifs in contemporary fashion, runs through much of the collection. It appears at the neckline of rib-knit dresses and tops, on necklaces and earrings crafted in recycled mixed-tone metals, and on the front of loafers. A long white gown with a cape-like sleeve that loops into the hem creates a sweeping circular silhouette.

Sparkling partywear, denim separates, mesh dresses and tops in a bold archival cherry-print also feature, as does a white mini tee studded with the words ‘Rock Royalty’, a direct reference to McCartney’s identity as the daughter of Paul McCartney.

Six bag styles make up the accessories line, from small shoulder bags to oversized totes, with a chocolate-toned bag featuring a Falabella chain-detail strap completing the range. Bag collaborations at accessible price points have historically driven some of the strongest sell-through in H&M’s designer partnerships, and McCartney’s Falabella has maintained consistent commercial relevance since its introduction in 2010.

Sustainability has been central to McCartney’s brand since she launched her label in 2001, making her one of the earliest mainstream designers to build it into her business model rather than treat it as an add-on. Materials in this collection include recycled content, organic cotton, RWS-certified wool, and feedstocks such as industrial corn and recycled vegetable oil for coated materials.

Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M’s Creative Advisor, said, “Stella has always had a bold vision for fashion, and this collection tracks her journey from a young, rule-breaking voice to a master of timeless design. Every single piece in the collection is desirable and tells a unique and bold story.”
