Aiming to attract more diverse patrons, BMW just made every driving enthusiast’s dream come true with the introduction of a manual transmission for the 2025 BMW Z4 convertible.

The pairing of a manual gearbox with the potent 382-hp TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder engine lies at the core of a captivating equipment package, shifting the two-seater’s commitment to providing a thrilling open-top driving experience.

Dubbed the 2025 BMW Z4 M40i “Handschalter,” this model introduces a recalibrated chassis and M light-alloy wheels measuring 19 inches at the front axle and 20 inches at the rear.

The BMW Z4 M40i’s 3-liter powerhouse, owing to the advanced M TwinPower Turbo technology, delivers a performance that is both free-revving and smooth. Boasting 382 hp between 5,800 and 6,500 rpm, and 369 lb-ft of torque between 1,800 and 5,000 rpm, this engine ensures impressive acceleration across the entire rev range.

A groundbreaking feature for the Z4 M40i with a manual gearbox is the inclusion of staggered-size wheels and tires. With a manual transmission, the BMW Z4 M40i accelerates from 0-60 mph in just 4.2 seconds, reaching an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.

The package price includes the option for customers to select metallic paints, such as the exclusive San Remo Green metallic available only on the manual version. Additionally, the manual-equipped Z4 M40i offers the exclusive BMW Individual Frozen Deep Green metallic at a special package rate.

Interior customization is extensive for manual transmission enthusiasts, with choices of five Vernasca leather upholstery shades, including Cognac with unique black M piping and black high-gloss interior trim at no extra cost. The package also offers the option of Black Alcantara combined with Black Vernasca leather featuring blue contrast stitching. Worldwide launch will commence in March 2024.
