Why Montenegro is Europe’s Ultimate Destination & Why You Should Buy a Piece of this Paradise

Remote working opportunities and increased emphasis on health and wellness has led many to reconsider their lifestyle and the location of their homes. The lesser-known but spectacularly beautiful Montenegro makes the ideal cut

Montenegro travel destination

Montenegro gained independence less than 15 years ago, but already the area has seen considerable investment, becoming an ultra-luxury destination in its own right, established with those in the know who are keen to sample its spectacular geography, welcoming hospitality and pleasant climate. Bordering Croatia and located on the Adriatic Sea opposite Italy, Montenegro offers a comparable host of delights which has added to its desirability as a destination in the southern Mediterranean.

One of Montenegro’s must-visit areas is the Bay of Kotor, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and named the world’s best place to visit in 2016 by Lonely Planet. The area was under Venetian rule for 400 years and its architecture retains a great deal of the spirit of that time. Kotor Old Town is a romantic, picture-perfect setting, with winding cobbled streets and a sense of historic charm to be explored. A warm, Mediterranean climate, with average temperatures of about 81°F in summer and 44°F in the winter season, makes this an idyllic year-round destination.

There are a variety of historical landmarks to explore around the city of Kotor, including the San Giovanni Fortress. A staggering 1,355 steps lead to the top of the fortress, offering spectacular views over the streets of the city and the breathtaking Bay of Kotor. The climb is worth the sights and is a real bucket list item within Montenegro. Many like to include this as a part of a wider journey along the Ladder of Kotor hiking trail, a steep path which used to lead to Cetinje, Montenegro’s cultural capital and former capital city.

Further along the bay, you can find the epitome of European luxury at Porto Montenegro. The Mediterranean’s leading luxury superyacht marina and residential lifestyle village, it offers high-end retail, dining and entertainment.

The marina village offers an unbeatable array of restaurants and shopping experiences, including De Gustibus, Roberto’s Mare, Murano Restaurant and Sumosan. The retail promenade is home to a full range of designer ateliers, car showrooms and artisan grocery providers, among which, The Fashion Gallery – a multi-brand store – houses labels such as Dolce & Gabbana, Dior, Alexander McQueen, Balmain, Gucci, Off-White and Tom Ford among others.

Montenegro has seen strong growth in overseas visitors in recent years, with latest developments such as the Citizenship by Investment programme attracting yet more overseas investment. The programme allows investors to apply for a Montenegrin passport in exchange for real estate purchases – and now has never been a better time to buy in Montenegro.

Boka Place Montenegro

With the launch of Porto Montenegro’s latest development, Boka Place, buyers can now purchase a piece of Porto Montenegro at a much more affordable starting price of 190,000 Euros, without compromising on quality and lifestyle.

Boka Place is a brand new neighbourhood, home to a diverse selection of eateries, retailers and public spaces. The homes are located at the entrance to Porto Montenegro, built on a naturally elevated plateau, allowing for sun-kissed views.
