Aman ventures into ranch territory for the first time with Amansanu in Texas Hill Country

Amansanu, Texas Hill Country
Amansanu debuts the brand’s first fully serviced stables alongside creek-side wellness and hillside residences starting at ten acres, northwest of Austin.

Aman is opening a ranch in Texas Hill Country, its sixth property in the United States and the first ranch-format resort in the brand’s four-decade history.

Amansanu, Texas Hill Country

The property is called Amansanu, derived from the Sanskrit words for “peaceful peak.” It will sit northwest of Austin, in a landscape of limestone cliffs, rolling hills, and creek valleys. The location places it within reach of one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States while maintaining the remove that Aman properties are built around.

Founded in 1988 by Adrian Zecha, has always been measured with its expansion. In nearly 40 years, the brand has opened fewer than 35 properties globally. That restraint is a core part of how Aman operates. Each location is chosen because it offers something the brand considers irreplaceable, and Texas Hill Country, with its scale of open land, distinctive geology, and proximity to Austin’s expanding affluent base, fits that framework. The ranch concept, however, is new territory. No Aman property has attempted it before, which makes Amansanu a more consequential announcement than the number six might suggest.

Olson Kundig, a Seattle-based practice with a long record of building in demanding natural environments, is handling the architecture. Their work here is described as a contemporary interpretation of regional vernacular, with structures following the topography and oriented to frame views across the valleys. Aman has used the standalone pavilion format consistently across its portfolio, and it will be employed here, keeping guest accommodation dispersed and shielded from each other.

Amansanu will include a Main Lodge, several dining concepts, and an Aman Spa and Wellness Centre positioned along the property’s natural creek. Racquet sports courts and extensive hiking trails will also feature. Fully serviced stables will be part of the program as well, making it the brand’s first equestrian facility anywhere in its portfolio. Amansanu, therefore, is not just a ‘ranch-inspired property’, but an actual ranch retreat.

A limited collection of branded residences will sit alongside the resort, each on a hillside site of at least ten acres. Open-plan interiors, natural materials, and expansive terraces are consistent with Aman’s residential language across other properties.

Vlad Doronin, Chairman and CEO of Aman Group, said, “Aman’s presence in the United States, with Amangiri, Amangani and Aman New York, reflects our focus on creating rare sanctuaries in destinations defined by natural beauty and cultural depth. Texas Hill Country embodies these qualities, with rolling landscapes and an independent spirit which aligns closely with Aman’s philosophy. Amansanu represents a meaningful evolution for Aman in the Americas, introducing a new expression of the brand while preserving the peace, privacy and connection to its surroundings that defines each of our destinations.”

Amansanu is part of a broader Americas push that includes Amanvari on Mexico’s East Cape, due to open in summer 2026, along with Aman Beverly Hills, Aman Miami Beach, and Amancaya in the Bahamas. The concentration of new openings in this region is notable given that Aman spent much of the 2000s and 2010s focused on Asia and the Middle East. Ultra-high-net-worth residential demand across the Americas continues to rise, and the branded residence model has attracted acquisitions and development capital that is now funding this pipeline. No opening date for Amansanu has been confirmed.
