Asprey Studio has partnered with the beloved comic company Marvel to create 60 one-of-one pieces that pair handcrafted sterling silver sculptures with animated digital artworks, each character existing in both physical and blockchain form simultaneously.

The Marvel Masterpieces Avengers: Asprey Studio Collection features characters that have defined popular culture since 1939. Captain America, Iron Man, and Black Panther are among the 60 heroes receiving this treatment. Each character gets two distinct artworks: a physical sculpture crafted by master silversmiths at Asprey Studio’s atelier in Kent, and a corresponding digital piece that lives on the Ethereum blockchain.

Asprey’s move into digital art through Asprey Studio represents a calculated expansion for a brand founded in 1781 as a silk printing business. The company has held Royal Warrants continuously since Queen Victoria appointed them in 1862, building a reputation through acquisitions of rival silversmiths and hiring craftsmen like Ernest Betjeman, one of the most respected designers of his era.
More recently, Asprey Studio partnered with Bugatti in 2022 to create the La Voiture Noire collection, which paired 261 sterling silver sculptures with NFTs. That collection sold out before launch, with secondary market prices climbing several multiples above initial pricing.

Alastair Walker, Chief Creative Officer of Asprey Studio, said, “Working closely with Marvel, we wanted to retain the soul of each character as well as their appearance as closely as possible. Each digital artwork is ‘alive’, it moves very subtly and unpredictably. The average person spends 27 seconds looking at art, so we wanted to have the digital artwork look slightly different each time you see it. Then each piece is paired to a beautifully crafted silver sculpture, made by our master silversmiths at the Asprey Studio Atelier.”
Marvel’s archive provided the source material for the digital works. Asprey Studio’s creative team hand-sculpted and animated each piece frame by frame, reimagining characters in three dimensions. This production method stands apart from typical generative NFT projects that rely on algorithmic combinations of preset traits.

Physical sculptures are created through a multi-stage process that combines traditional silversmithing with modern techniques. Asprey’s London and Kent workshops have maintained their in-house production capabilities, allowing the company to control quality and timelines. The workshops employ silversmiths, goldsmiths, jewellers, leatherworkers, engravers and watchmakers who work on everything from bespoke commissions to trophy production for sporting events.
“Comics are truly an artform, and Marvel comic book artists are profoundly inspiring, masterfully combining dynamic storytelling, bold visuals, and emotional depth to shape a vivid and enduring visual language that continues to influence generations,” said Walker.
John Rigas, Chairman of Asprey International Ltd, said, “Comics are the mythology of our time. I am delighted that Asprey Studio has brought these mythological heroes to life, reimagining them as digital art that reflects the latest advancements in technology and as beautiful silver sculptures reflecting over 500 years of excellence in British silversmithing. The combination is a magical outcome!”

Collectors who acquire pieces from the collection will receive a specially commissioned limited-edition comic book. This addition acknowledges both Marvel’s storytelling legacy and Asprey’s history with fine and rare books, a category the brand has traded in since its early expansion beyond dressing cases.
The sculptures are priced between approximately US$35,000 to US$200,000. The collection has been previewed at private events in London and New York, with an exhibition scheduled for December 12, 2025, at The Palace Downtown in Dubai.
Walker noted that “creating a collection of 1-of-1 pieces means heightened rarity and added value for our Collectors.” This scarcity model has become standard practice in high-end collectibles, where provenance and edition size directly impact secondary market valuations.

Tasia Filippatos, President of Disney Consumer Products, said, “Bringing this collection to life with Asprey Studio is a masterclass in craftsmanship and imagination. Together, we’re bringing Marvel’s legacy of dynamic, visual storytelling into collectible works of art that celebrate the intersection of design, tech, creativity and character.”
Asprey Studio has confirmed this is the first in a series of planned releases. The collection launches as legacy entertainment properties continue finding new revenue streams through art market channels. Auction houses have been selling original comic book panels for significant sums, while galleries mount retrospectives of comic illustrators. This Marvel partnership positions Asprey Studio within that ecosystem, targeting collectors who operate across traditional art markets, comic culture, and digital asset spaces.
