First impressions often set the tone, but what lingers is the feeling a place leaves behind. Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, in collaboration with Shrem Airport Hotels, has officially launched Fairmont Mumbai, marking the brand’s second property in India.

Located near the airport, the hotel brings together refined design, expansive event spaces, and thoughtful hospitality, aiming to serve both global travelers and local guests with equal attention.
The hotel features 446 rooms and suites, including a dedicated wellness floor and over 75,000 square feet of versatile event space. With this opening, Mumbai joins a global network of Fairmont properties that includes landmarks such as The Savoy in London, The Plaza in New York, and Fairmont The Palm in Dubai.

Omer Acar, CEO, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, said, “The opening of Fairmont Mumbai is a significant milestone in our global growth and reaffirms our commitment to India; a market full of energy, cultural richness and opportunity. Inspired by the golden age of the Art Deco period, the hotel offers a grand setting—from transformative wellness experiences to the city’s largest and most refined event spaces. I am confident that the Fairmont Mumbai will immediately become a social epicenter—a place of celebration, hosting our guests’ most extraordinary moments and unforgettable events.”
The design takes inspiration from classic Art Deco but keeps things modern. Instead of heavy décor, it uses open spaces and soft textures to make the hotel feel welcoming and relaxed.
Dining is a central part of the experience, with five distinct venues crafted around storytelling and regional inspiration. Madeleine de Proust is an Indo-French pâtisserie and tea lounge set within a botanical garden, offering a quiet space rooted in nostalgia. The Merchants presents a vibrant, food-hall-style experience that celebrates global cuisines through the lens of Mumbai’s trading history and dabbawala culture.
Samaa brings Mediterranean flavors to an open-air setting, ideal for both laid-back brunches and late-night dinners. Oryn serves bold Sichuan and Cantonese cuisine in a cinematic setting, paired with an indoor glasshouse terrace that offers views of the airport. Meanwhile, The Hedonist is a cocktail bar inspired by the imagined life of an Indian adventurer, an intimate space with a layered, old-world charm designed for modern tastes.

Fairmont Mumbai’s events and conferencing facilities are designed to meet a wide range of needs. The Infinity Ballroom, spanning 21,000 square feet, includes live theatre kitchens and a large pre-function area. The Eon Ballroom offers a more intimate, social setting with a built-in bar, while The Vantage, the rooftop venue, provides panoramic city views. The Grand Terminus business centre features private meeting rooms, collaborative spaces, and high-end amenities tailored for corporate guests.
Wellness offerings go beyond spa treatments, with a dedicated Fairmont Spa & Longevity floor introducing several advanced therapies. Treatments include Cryotherapy, Red Light Therapy, Infrared Sauna with Halotherapy, Intermittent Vacuum Therapy, and sessions inside a Hyperbaric Oxygen Pod. These services are paired with personalized wellness rituals aimed at long-term wellbeing.

The hotel also features Fairmont Fit, a modern fitness center equipped with Technogym systems, as well as an infinity pool, kids’ pool, and the Tiny Town Kids’ Club for younger guests.
Rajiv Kapoor, General Manager of Fairmont Mumbai, said, “The hotel promises to offer unmatched experiences, where luxury is in every detail—whether it’s in the thoughtful design, exceptional service, or the curated amenities. With a dedicated team committed to making special happen, Fairmont Mumbai is focused on ‘turning moments into special memories,’ ensuring every guest’s journey is extraordinary.”
The launch in Mumbai is part of Fairmont’s broader plan to grow in India. Next in line is Fairmont Udaipur Palace, opening later this year, with new hotels also coming up in Agra, Shimla Fagu, and Goa Shiroda. Each one is designed to reflect the local culture while staying true to Fairmont’s global style.

Nitan Chhatwal, Chairman & Managing Director, Shrem Group, said, “Fairmont Mumbai represents a bold vision brought to life, a landmark project that reflects artistry, thoughtful design, and our commitment to shaping world-class hospitality experiences in India.”
Fairmont Mumbai also strengthens Accor’s presence in the region as part of its luxury segment. The group currently operates properties in cities including Singapore, Seoul, Jakarta, and Jaipur, with over 30 new Fairmont hotels under development globally in locations such as Tokyo, Prague, Bangkok, and the English countryside.
