Montblanc revisits the tales of mythical creatures for its latest limited-edition collection

Three masterpieces by the luxury lifestyle brand welcomes the Year of the Snake.

Montblanc’s Signs & Symbols collector line has epitomized a confluence of mythic lore and East Asian cultural resonance for its latest launch. Since 2015, this prestigious Signs & Symbols collection has unveiled two distinct series annually: The Legend of Zodiacs reflecting the Chinese zodiac, and A Journey among Dragons honoring mythological prowess through masterful craftsmanship and exquisite design.

Montblanc Year of the Snake pen

The newest to join in the Signs & Symbols collection is the Legend of Zodiacs The Snake Limited Edition 512. It pays tribute to the sixth animal of the East Asian zodiac. Unlike Western astrology, which divides the year into twelve months, the East Asian system spans twelve years, each represented by an animal symbol. This edition highlights the snake, embodying wisdom, intuition, and complexity.

The Snake Limited Edition 512 features a cap crafted from blackened and polished Ag 925 sterling silver, intricately engraved with a snake entwined around a bamboo shoot. This design symbolizes longevity and vitality.

The platinum-coated barrel is adorned with an abstract Chinese knot pattern for good fortune, and the cone is set with an opal triplet. The cap ring commemorates the year of the snake, including 2025 and past snake years, and the nib, made of gold and rhodium, showcases a snake motif. The edition’s number, 512, reflects the lucky number 8.

Montblanc Lacquer Dragon Pen

Next up in the Montblanc Signs & Symbols is A Journey among Dragons: The Winged Dragon Limited Edition 88. It pays homage to the revered dragon of East Asian mythology, an emblem of prosperity and wisdom. This edition features an Ag 925 sterling silver cap with a raised dragon relief, green sapphire eyes, and a gradient lacquer barrel adorned with diamonds.

The design nods to the dragon’s association with the color qing and is highlighted by solid gold fittings, a green tourmaline, and a gold nib etched with the ancient Hong sign. The cap is finished with a Montblanc emblem in mother-of-pearl, set in black onyx and sapphire glass.

Montblanc Dragon Pen 2024

Montblanc’s A Journey among Dragons: The Winged Dragon Limited Edition 8 exemplifies the pinnacle of the brand’s craftsmanship. This exclusive edition features a 3D hand-engraved dragon on a solid Au 750 white gold barrel and cap, embellished with green tsavorites, blue Paraiba tourmalines, and blue topaz. The design includes blue topaz eyes, diamond-adorned wings, and a light blue sapphire cone.

The nib, also set with a sapphire, features the Hong character symbolizing the end of rainfall. The cap is crowned with a Montblanc emblem diamond, and the collection is completed with snake-themed stationery and accessories. These masterpieces inspired by legends never go out of style!
