Montblanc and Ferrari have extended their partnership with the launch of the Meisterstück Great Masters Ferrari Tailor Made Classica Special Edition, a writing instrument that mirrors the precision and individuality of Ferrari’s Tailor Made program. This edition is the first in a three-part series exploring customisation, bringing Ferrari’s design ethos into the world of fine writing.
The collaboration continues a partnership that began in 2021 with the Great Characters Enzo Ferrari edition, honoring the founder’s vision. The partnership evolved in 2023 with the Stilema SP3 concept, inspired by the Daytona SP3, introducing a sleek aerodynamic silhouette and an innovative ink filling mechanism. Early in 2025, the Enzo Ferrari edition returned in the “Giallo Modena” colourway. With the Classica edition, both brands focus on self-expression and the fusion of heritage with modern design.
Drawing inspiration from Ferrari’s Tailor Made program, the Classica edition revisits the design language of 1950s and 1960s GT sports cars. Customers can explore a palette of colours, leathers, chrome accents, and contrast stitching, elements that once defined Ferrari’s vintage vehicles. These materials and details find their reflection in Montblanc’s writing instrument, creating a tangible connection between automotive history and everyday expression.
The design of the Meisterstück Great Masters Ferrari Tailor Made Classica Special Edition brings these influences to life. The mahogany barrel with black lacquer stripe evokes the tactile steering wheels of classic Ferrari GTs, while platinum-coated accents mirror polished chrome finishes. The cross-hatch pattern on the forepart, cone, and cap top references the texture of original Ferrari wheel spokes. The Prancing Horse subtly integrated into the barrel, alongside the yellow Montblanc emblem on the cap top, nods to Ferrari’s birthplace of Modena and its founding spirit.
The handcrafted nib, made from Au 750 solid gold and rhodium-coated, expresses artisanal precision akin to the hand-beaten panels of mid-century Ferrari GT cars. Embossing on the nib celebrates the collaboration, depicting the Montblanc emblem within a cross-hatched circle. Available as a fountain pen and rollerball, the edition is available across Montblanc boutiques worldwide, online, and at select Ferrari boutiques.
