Swatch and Omega are back with another Bioceramic MoonSwatch drop, this time with a new celestial twist. Swatch has announced the release of MISSION TO EARTHPHASE – MOONSHINE GOLD, a new addition to its Bioceramic MoonSwatch Collection, available exclusively on August 9 at selected Swatch stores worldwide. Timed to launch on the day of the full moon, this release expands the collection with a new complication, an earth phase indicator, while continuing to highlight signature details such as OMEGA’s Moonshine Gold and storytelling from the world of Snoopy.

This timepiece introduces Swatch’s latest innovation, the earth phase indicator, which shows how Earth appears when viewed from the Moon. Unlike traditional moon phases, the earth phase follows a reversed 29.5-day cycle, moving counterclockwise to mirror the celestial relationship. The addition offers a fresh take on astronomical tracking while nodding to retrograde functions seen in higher-end mechanical watches.
The dial also features a moon phase indicator on the 2 o’clock subdial. It displays two full moons coated in Moonshine Gold, one designed with Snoopy’s signature charm and the other inspired by the Sturgeon Moon. A net-like pattern appears on one of the moons, referencing the historical meaning of August’s full moon.

Positioned below the earth phase display is a small illustration of Snoopy and Woodstock seated on the Moon, admiring Earth. This design includes a hidden phrase that reveals itself under UV light, a reference to the Moonwatch’s legacy and a small tribute to imagination as a tool for progress.
The case, bezel, crown, and pushers are made from navy Bioceramic, a mix of ceramic and biosourced materials produced from castor oil. The color was developed exclusively for this model and draws on the deep blue tones associated with outer space. The white opaline dial includes the OMEGA X Swatch, Speedmaster, and MoonSwatch logos, along with recessed subdials and luminous hour markers coated in Grade A Super-LumiNova.

Additional details include a navy Bioceramic bezel with a tachymeter scale, glass made from biosourced material engraved with the Swatch “S,” and a battery cover engraved with an Earth motif. The watch comes with a matching navy velcro rubber strap and Bioceramic loop.
The watch measures 42 mm in diameter, 13.75 mm in thickness, and 47.30 mm lug-to-lug. It runs on a quartz movement with chronograph (seconds only), moon phase, and earth phase indicators. It has a water resistance rating of 3 bar.

MISSION TO EARTHPHASE – MOONSHINE GOLD will be sold on a limited basis, with only one watch available per person, per store, for approximately US$400. The launch is part of Swatch’s ongoing approach to combining accessible design with mechanical features not typically seen in this segment. While the collaboration continues to draw attention through cultural references and unique materials, this model also introduces an original idea, the earth phase, designed to shift how complications are understood in watches at this price point.
