Both companies are well-known producers of handcrafted rugs, and this team-up is a combination of their exquisite craftsmanship.
The collection is inspired by the impasto painting technique, in which paint is applied thickly to the canvas to produce a three-dimensional effect that gives texture and depth to the painting. The impasto painting technique was popularized by artists like Vincent Van Gogh in the 20th century, and the impasto rug line follows the same technique to give texture and depth in the rug. Each design pattern employs multiple layers of motifs that enhance the rug’s three-dimensional appearance.
To bring an extra dose of luxury, the design team beautifully weaves a shimmery mix of various kinds of wools and silks and uses a new innovative cross-knitting technique to simulate extra depth in certain areas. Motifs used in this rug are inspired by Japanese charcoal art.
